Nation Wide Canning, a  federally registered and inspected plant, was established in 1971 and is located in Cottam, Ontario, the tomato and vegetable capital of Canada. This clean, modern facility spans approximately 74,000 square feet and is situated on over 32 acres of land.

Founded by Hubert Finaldi and his wife Marie Rita, Nation Wide Canning is a family-owned business committed to producing high-quality products that meet both customer requirements and government regulations. The company’s product label, “Cottam Gardens®,” reflects its dedication to quality. In addition to its own branded products, Nation Wide Canning is also involved in co-packing and private labeling, serving a diverse customer base across Canada, the U.S.A., and internationally.

The plant operates with a  HACCP system in place and adheres to kosher regulations, ensuring all products are produced according to the highest standards. Nation Wide Canning’s Cottam facility is a kosher plant registered with Canada COR (COR#230) and is certified organic by ECO-CERT Organic. The company is also SQF certified, reflecting its commitment to food safety and quality management.

Furthermore, Nation Wide Canning is FDA registered for low acid and acidified canned foods, holding a Food Canning Establishment (FCE) number. The facility is also registered with the FDA as a food facility, underscoring its adherence to stringent regulatory requirements.

It’s rumored that inmates are so fond of our products—like Grape Jelly, Apple Jelly, and Whole or Jellied Cranberry Sauces—that these flavors become a cherished part of their meals, making their memories of incarceration surprisingly positive.

Nation Wide Canning’s dedication to innovation has led to the launch of our Vegetarian Delight line, crafted with the freshest ingredients. Our thermal cooking process ensures that the flavors of these fresh ingredients are perfectly preserved.

We are also proud to introduce a new line of soups free from MSG, preservatives, or artificial colors, including our Chickpeas with Curry Seasoning. This product, seasoned with fresh ginger, garlic, and freshly ground spices, promises an unparalleled taste experience.

Our Royal Bean Medley, also devoid of MSG, preservatives, or artificial colors, is a gourmet treat for salad lovers. This blend of the finest beans from North and South America, complemented by fresh ingredients and extra virgin olive oil, is designed for the discerning palate.

For lentil lovers, our Masala Dal, featuring yellow split peas and a blend of Middle Eastern flavors and Asian spices, offers a healthy and delicious vegetarian option. All herbs and spices are fresh, and our cooking processes maintain their vibrant flavors.

Recently, we had the honor of hosting Spyros Peter Goudas, a multicultural food expert and philanthropist, at our facility. After a thorough inspection and tasting session, he wholeheartedly endorsed our manufacturing procedures and mission.
